A New Translation of the Orphic Hymn to Ares/Mars!
I’m getting a nudge from the universe that I should publish my new translation of the Orphic Hymn to Ares/Mars on Saturday 10/29, when Hermes/Mercury moves into Scorpio. The idea being that then folx could use it in ritual for (and during) the Mars retrograde.

Everything you get—from newsletter to extra content— will reflect the insights that come about when you look deeply at the distinctive esoteric language used in the Hymns. This aspect of the Hymns hasn’t been addressed (as far as my extensive research has revealed) in any of the available English translations so far, perhaps because to read the Greek esoterically, one has to be trained both as a Classicist AND a scholar of ancient magic and religion…my sweet spot! (I call this mode of reading/translation/oracular language “Orphic Speech,” and I could write more than one post on that, but those will have to wait for another day.)
Ok…gotta get busy! I wasn’t planning on making Mars the first Hymn I publish, but when Ares knocks on your door, you better wake the fuck up!
